For companies that are either a structural steel fabricator or a supplier to fabrication industry, and are interested in membership to VCSSFA, below are the requirements for eligibility per the association by-laws. Per VCSSFA By-Laws
2.1 Regular Membership: Any company engaged in fabricating structural steel and which maintains a plant or a representative in Virginia, North Carolina, or SouthCarolina, is eligible for full membership subject to the following conditions:
2.1.1 Applicantmust be sponsored by two (2) Regular member companies, who must submit theirendorsement letters to the Secretary of the Corporation.
2.1.2 Applicant must possess experience in thefabrication business and must fabricate structural steel in its own plant.
2.1.3 All applications for membership shall beapproved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
2.1.4 Votes to reject an applicant shall be basedon a bona fide belief that the applicant is not engaged in structural steelfabrication.
2.1.5 Regular membership entitles a firm to onevote on all matters before the Corporation. Representatives of regular memberfirms may hold office, serve on the Board of Directors, serve on a Committee,or serve as a Committee Chairman.
2.2 Associate Membership: Any company engaged as a supplier to the structural steel fabricating industry in Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina is eligible for associate membership subject to the following conditions.
2.2.1 Applicant must be sponsored by two (2)Regular member companies, who must submit their endorsement letters to the Secretary of the Corporation.
2.2.2 Applicant must be actively involved as asupplier to structural steel fabricators in Virginia, North Carolina, or SouthCarolina.
2.2.3 All applications for membership shall be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
2.2.4 Votes to reject an applicant shall be based on a bona fide belief that serving as a supplier to the structural steel fabrication industry of Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina is not the applicant’s primary business.
2.2.5 Associate members shall not have the right to vote, hold office, serve on a Committee, or serve as a Committee Chairman.
